Fitting the Device

You may replace the cover on the device. There is a green status LED that cannot be seen when the cover is in place. If you think it is safe to do so, you may operate the device without its cover when first testing it.
With your computer turned off, connect a SATA power cable and a SATA data cable to the device. Ensure the metal case of the device is not touching any which it should not. You may fit the device into a drive bay if you wish. An adapter will be necessary in order to fit it to a 3.5 inch bay.
When you are satisfied all is well, turn on your computer. If you are able to see the LED, it should flicker as the device is accessed and otherwise be off. If it flashes on and off once a second, this indicates a fault. In the case of a fault, turn off the machine and check your work. You may find it convenient to test the device with only one card fitted (in socket SD_1).
